I wonder why they offer such huge cash prizes when players, pundits etc, claim that the money is unimportant.  Perhaps they give it away, you never know!
I think they are telling porkies when they say money is unimportant. They are "professional" tennis players. Which means they do it for a living.

Grahame, I think you have got it spot on there.

Hi Egap, I agree with you regarding the prize money.  I have been to Wimbledon a few times now and although food and drink, once inside, is charged at astronomical prices, you are able to take your own picnic with you.  The ticket prices are quite fair also, I think we paid 50 pounds each for centre court tickets last year and saw three 2nd round matches.  Compare that with top flight football tickets and it represents fantastic value.  We should be very proud of Wimbledon, it is a fantastic venue and is run supremely well.
