I am thinking that Ainsley was involved from early on in the investigation,,,but I'll have to refer to my encyclopaedia of notes. I've forgotten exactly how and what part he took but if I remember rightly,,he added more fuel to the case against Jeremy. This was the chap who, after retiring, went to work for DB as a security advisor at the caravan park.( ironic,or what ?. )
DC Ainsley headed the second part of the investigation into the deaths.

I think Ainsley took over from DC Jones after a complaint was made by the family. I might stand corrected on this of course!

It was Ainsley that pushed the Sheila's handswabs, having been told that the swabs would be positive anyway, due to the fact that she was in a room where they had been gun fire... Miraculously, they came back negative. How did that work out? I find it very difficult to believe the story surrounding the handswabs.... :-\ :-\ :-\ :) :) :)

They tested as having traces of lead such as you would expect from ordinary day to day handling of household stuff.

Does anyone know how to find out the names of DCI Taff Jones' team during the SC/688/85 investigation?

Lookout, HUGE apologies for "playing" with your post, but I couldn't resist seeing how easy it might be for reports/statements to be altered to change their meaning in a subtle way that might not be open to question.

I wonder if Ainsly was given shares in the caravan park........and how many...........and to whom may they previously belonged?

April,,that's quite alright.
Nothing would surprise me ( for services rendered, and all that ) about this case. Some folk are dab-hand at giving away things that don't belong to them, shall we say.?

Are you out to get me Bridget? lol

You know perfectly well what I mean....there was no traces of residue on her except for the normal does expected to be found on anyone. In all fairness there should have been something more that that, she was photographed holding the gun, she was in a room where gun fire had occurred....yet there was nothing, which makes it very suspicious indeed...I would like to see a new test done...in similar circumstances and see what the results would be be...Anyone got a rifle...lol   ;D

I think NGB has a rifle, but probably not an electron miscroscope ;)

But I agree, it would be an interesting test because you can't just say there should have been more.

Hi Susan, I wonder if the tests would prove that Sheila would have had traces of residue on her...About 15 shots were fired in that bedroom...I can't believe she had nothing on her.

I don't think anyone should shot anyone, but it is worth doing various tests, to simulate the scene..It all boils down to money....:)

Hi Patti  it seems strange that she hardly had any residue on her I am sure the tests would prove your point but it is all down to money.  lookout and april1 are more up on this than me. Patti just kidding about poor Bridget as I am sure you know Ha Ha.  Maybe not funny in the circumstances.  Forgive.

Off the top of my head, it was 12 or maybe 13 shots in that room, but you'd have to take into consideration how far it travels, how long it stays airborn etc. Not an easy test to set up.

I don't think the particles stay airborne Bridget.  I do know the particles can travel a few yards, before they fall..plus they can be shook of or transferred with during movement...

The annoying thing is that normal procedures were not implemented, for the swabs should have been taken at the crime scene anyway....in order for a truer reading... :) :) :)
