Where does it stop. Some women who, because of what they have seen demonstrated to them throughout their lives and because they have no other frame of reference, produce numerous children with numerous men, who may or may not support them, and many will rely on benefits all their lives. What's to be done about it?
Education? Many of these women aren't academic. Some leave school barely able to read and write, but most will become mothers, so perhaps we should make more effort to provide lessons on what motherhood means, cooking, not just heating, food, cleaning, mending, washing, budgeting.
How do we manage those mothers who produce prodigious amounts of children, with whom they can't cope? Easy to say we put them into care or make them available for adoption, but to most children, being taken from their mother, however poor a mother she has been, says to the child that it is they who have done something wrong, resulting in their mother no longer wanting them. The child will then see itself as being bad and unlovable, a belief that will colour the rest of its' life and cause it to behave accordingly. Some may benefit from therapy, but it could be that it's too painful a road to follow and it may prove easier to stick with what is already known.
So what's the answer? In a perfect world there wouldn't be the problem. Hitler had a vision of a perfect world. He ordered steralized all those females he considered unsuitable or unworthy of motherhood. Strange that, isn't it? In the animal world, it's the male who is steralized, hmmm. No, I'm not offering it as a solution but I'm no closer to seeing one, at least, not in the short term. What we are seeing is the result of generation upon generation of dysfuntionality and IMO, it will take many more generations before it can even start to be eradicated.
