See the judge was scathing about the prosecution witnesess' evidence:

I always wondered whether the SA authorities tried to protect tourism revenue by framing Dewani.

I never did believe that Dewani murdered his wife. The corruption in SA stinks.

Hello lookout  what has concerned me regarding this murder is firstly why did he take her to such a dangerous area late at night tourists are advised not to venture into these areas and why did they just kill her and not him.  Why would the taxi driver be at his hotel and he did disappear into a room with no CCTV coverage and the driver came out carrying something in a bag.  I for one think he was involved not because of his sexuality but I guess he married because it was what was expected of him.  Pity he was not made to take the stand that way he may have been proved guilty or indeed innocent at the moment he is neither.

I tend to agree with you on this susie . I know the evidence wasn't convincing but still feel he was involved. Have a friend who's spent loads of time in Cape Town and she cannot understand why they ate where they did that night . She says the restaurant wasn't in one of the best areas even before they drove into the township late at night.
Wonder if the family will bring a private case against him.

Maggie I agree why would he take his wife to areas where it was dangerous to be does not make sense to me.  Pity they did not have him on the stand.  Hope they do bring a private case against him lets have it all out in the open.

Her family need answers. But, if he's innocent, surely he should do everything to help them find the whole truth and surely he needs that as well?

Maggie yes her family do need answers so they can move on and as you said if he is innocent and he loved their daughter you would think he would want to help them.  Why was it so difficult to get him back to SA he was not for going.

He was diagnosed with severe mental health illness and too sick to travel but we may never know the whole story. I feel for Anni's family, dreadfully hard for them.

I think he's guilty as sin. I don't believe they would let him go and kill his wife - he'd seen their faces and they knew they could be tracked down.

I agree, it. Doesn't make any sense not to shoot him as well.

I'm not sure about this to be honest. There is little evidence to prove he hired those thugs to kill his wife.

The judge said that the ones held responsible for her murder could not give the court conclusive evidence and that their stories were hard to believe because they kept changing what they said had happened.  The men had a history of crime, so would anyone believe them?

I'm on the fence with one, because there is no concrete evidence to support his guilt.  :-\

I'm also on the fence.  Probably 60/40 Dewani is innocent.  The prosecution's case was rubbish.  It could be that he was involved in something that didn't go to plan... although I'm not sure I buy the defence argument of an intended kidnap/ransom secenario on the part of the locals that went wrong.  I cant see how they could have pulled it off in the first place.  :-\

Ho Roch/Maggie

I can't help but think that the press had a field day with this case.  They looked so happy together at their wedding and the photographs on their honeymoon showed them both very relaxed with each other.

Why they went to such an area, only they will know.  Its not uncommon to go off piste when you go abroad to take a sneaky look at how the other half live; even though it is not advised to do so.

The court has acquitted him therefore he is perceived to be an Innocent man.  There is no evidence to convict him. Being bisexual is something that he himself has had to come to terms with and his honour is shattered. But, only in his faith.  The question is why did he marry? Did he really love her?

Maggie, like you I feel sorry for the family...for them there is no answers or conclusion.  I also doubt that they can successfully sue him for not being honest about his sexuality.

Such a shame all round. Sad!  :(
