Hello
« on: March 03, 2012, 06:55:PM »
Hello from DV8. The name is Bob Hope from Eltham, South East London and I came to the Bamber case through reading Colin Cafell's book and then researching the details on the internet. I am still reading and learning slowly.

Welcome to the forum Phil. Good to see you posting. I hope you will be able to offer new insights into the case. I read Colin's book a few years ago and found it very moving and gave the case a human face.

Hello DV8, welcome to the forum.

I've not read Caffell's book, therefore I reply solely on the forum's perception of it.

Nice posts so far....

Ooops sorry. I didn't realise introductions get replies.
Dohhh is me.
Thank's for the kind welcomes. I was at school when the murders happened aged 15. I kind of remember the case in the headlines but not in detail. Then I picked up Colin's book which sparked my interest.

I find Colin a very kind, decent  and honest chap although  perhaps just a little away with the fairys (robins! ;D). I have read Blood Relations and t'other book (I don't recall the name) since Colin's. I will read Lomax's book next which I believe is more favourable to Bamber.

I obviously do believe Bamber is guilty beyond reasonable doubt but at the sametime I am willing to read and learn and change my mind if the facts of the case I read demand that. I will endeavour to be polite and respectful when I post.

Strangely Colin's book was the first book I read about the case. I found it beautiful as well as moving, haunting and disturbing. It played on my mind for weeks after and left me feeling very sad about Sheila and her boys and of course Colin himself and how difficult it must still be for him as he must think upon them often and wonder what might have been if things had been different.
