Do you mean assuming it wasn't Sheila or Jeremy?

i think it could have been ether of them but also don't  others should be ruled out.

for a fair while i thought i was neither sheila nor Jeremy but this is looking a bit less likely now

im just trying to look at other ways an outside intruder could hae got in other than window witch dosent really sound likely.

So what has happened to make you change your mind? Why does it look a bit less likely?

well hartly pointed out that neather the cellar or the trapdoor are viable ways of getting in

now if a window how would anybody other than the bambers know it was open.

so this tends to point to sheila unless someone was let in

If it wasn't SC then someone inside the house (poss. Nevill - kitchen) could have let them in. The murderer then bolted the doors from the inside and left through a window.

Were all doors manually bolted from the inside or was there a door that could be closed and would "self lock" when leaving?

I believe that all doors were manually locked from the inside.

i dont think anyone would have gone down there on the of chance the window might be open and they would have know way of knowing weather it was open or not.

It is plain that robbery was not the motive here. So if anyone had gone there to kill, then they would obviously had planned it as well.
