One of the questions I would like answered is about Pargeter,
Pargeter said he removed his .22 rifle from WHF some months before the tragedy,yet had no firearms certificate.
Is it normal for the police not to prosecute for this offence.
Pargeter said he normally kept his guns at WHF, and indeed zero,d his sights there a short while before the murders.
His gun case was still at WHF after the killings, and all the cleaning stuff ect. was in the case.
As someone who is/ was a gun holder would you find this normal practice.
Pargeter comes up a lot in this case, for instance he states that to remove the sites from the gun you need allen keys. DB says you need a screwdriver, who is right.
I appologise again, but I think you can answer some of our concerns.

Pargeter is pivotal in this case.
To the family he was not a cuckoo, but one of them.
He found a lot of stuff that convicted Jeremy, but seems to have been let off for his offences, why.
Apparently he had some sort of breakdown, what brought this on.
Was something playing on his mind, if so what?
The cops turned a blind eye to his misdemeaners, why?
He went to pains to say he shot at Bisley, and considered himself a good shot, and Jeremy was no slouch either, why.
He said when zeroing in his sights that he fired about fifty shots, but was not happy with them, but went out with JB to shoot rabbits.
He also said that JB fired 10 shots and found nothing wrong with the sights.
IMO Pargeter is a downright liar.

Pargeter went to visit aunt June at WHF, but left his wife and kids straight away to find his rifle.
Is this normal. Would you not exchange pleasantries first.
Why would tear off and try and locate your rifle, [which was not in its NORMAL place] meaning the rifle was normally kept at WHF.

cliff - I will do my best to answer the three points you raise:

1. I believe Pargeter did hold a Firearm Certificate permitting him to own the .22 Brno bolt action rifle.  A Firearm Certificate normally contains conditions relating to the storage of the weapon and the locations where it can be used.  It has been suggested that the conditions attached to Pargeter's Firearm Certificate required the rifle to be stored at WHF and only permitted it to be used at WHF. If that is the case it would have been a criminal offence for Pargeter to take the rifle away from WHF.  Breaches of the conditions attached to a Firearm Certificate are regarded as serious and normally lead to revocation of the Certificate and prosecution.  As I understand it Pargeter may not have been entirely consistent in the accounts he has given at different times about the location of his rifle on the night of the shootings at WHF.

2. If the owner of a rifle took it away from its normal storage location for use elsewhere I would expect him to take the rifle case with him for the purpose of carrying the rifle.  He would probably also take the cleaning kit in order to clean the rifle after use.

3. Removal of the telesopic sights from a rifle is usually very straightforward.  The type of mount used determines the tool (if any) needed to remove it.  Most of my rifles require an allen key to remove or attach the telescopic sights.  I do not know what mount was used on the Anschutz rifle so I am not able to say with certainty but I suspect that an allen key was probably required to remove the telescopic sight.

DB said it required a screwdriver. no mistaking a slot for a screwdriver, for a hexegon of an allen key.

My apologies but I cant find the thread to quote from.  The pompous git who is supposed to be JB's biological father, made a comment that he didnt know or care if JB was his son, words to that effect, but he wanted nothing to do with him.  In the same breath he more or else admitted JB was his son but had no involvement in his upbringing. Would JB, not be able to request a DNA test to prove his parentage regarding this man and the woman who is supposed to have had JB out of wedlock?
