You mean like Israel?
Yes, you already said that, ngb!
Again, I really don't know what to believe about Israel. Some see the people as evil monsters, some as a people who have been victimized for centuries.
In part it seems to date back to the time of Christ with the Jews getting the blame for his death.
Since then they have always been treated with suspicion and blamed for disastrous world events [eg. the great plague of Europe] without any logical foundation.
This thing with money too, for whatever reason, Jews were shunned and persecuted and were banned from owning land or gaining employment of many jobs, hence they took up [were forced??] to take up money lending.
The Jews were even persecuted by the Crusaders because of their denial that Jesus eas the son of God and a false prophet!
In a way, what the Jews claim makes sense anyway, the way they see it, God [who is outside time and space] could not physically present himself in human form on Earth.
Christians however, believe that Jesus is linked to God in the form of the holy trinity, the father the son and the holy ghost, or something like that anyway[ask Steve]
Anyway, because of their view of christianity the Crusaders persecuted them along with the muslims.
Anyway, the question was, are the Jews/Israel safe to have nuclear weapons, or are they religius nutters like the Iranians?
Well, I believe the Jews do to an extent see themselves as the chosen people who live in the promised land as it were, does that make them lunatics? Well I would say no!
The Jews are a tiny minority in the world, 0.2 percent of the world population I believe.
Do the Jews force Judaism on the world? Again, there is no evidence of this and the Jewish population hasn't grown much for many years [unlike the muslim hordes].
Has Israel been a warmongerer since 1948 and invaded other countries? Well again this is complicated, but on the whole I would say Israel has just been defending the land it was granted, and any land gained by war in the likes of Egypt or the Golan Heights area of Syria were eventually given back, so hardly a state/country hell bent on taking over the region?
I know Israel has taken parts of Lebanon in the mean time again for security reasons and distancing themselves from missile attacks, but again, I presume they will eventually return the land sometime after the conflict is over.
So, on the whole, I would trust the Israelies with nuclear weapons rather than a radical religius country like Iran who maim and kill their own citizens.
Well, thats just my view anyway, ngb!
