Movement After Death
« on: January 28, 2026, 01:05:PM »
Dr Vanezis has always made it clear, based on the pm, he is unable to conclude whether SC took her own life or was murdered.  During the pm he found nothing to contradict the prevailing murder/suicide theory.

The fact SC sustained two gunshot wounds is seen by some as evidence she was murdered.  The following YouTube vid provides many examples of movement post death caused by the biological process of the body shutting down.  This could explain how SC was able to sustain two gunshot wounds effectively by her own hand:

You made a good point about Laniet's gurgling on a different thread, but transposing it onto Sheila Caffell is a stretch too far. Gurgling, the death rattle or other noises emanating from the corpse is the final toll of mortality, but it doesn't enable someone to have sufficient energy to pull the trigger of a .22 rifle for the second time.

I think she's quite clear in say those movements are hours after death. It doesn't explain the second gunshot at all.

It's a possibility, but since Dr Vanezis could not rule out SC pulling the trigger a second time, which often happens with suicides, its largely irrelevant.

No.  She refers to three types of movement post death:

- Post mortem twitching
- Cadaveric spasm
- Rigor Mortis

She said movement with rigor mortis happens 2 to 6 hours after death.

The figure I have is 6% maximum.

I think it varies on the type of firearm.
