The evidence Jeremy said " You may hear from me later " Isn't strong on its own instance.

Both parties agree about the 10pm phone call

They differ on the contents.
The 10pm telephone call could be explained away under normal circumstances as just boyfriend and girlfriend social chat. But in this instance he stated: "I've been thinking about the crime all day and it will have to be now or never.. tonight's the night."

That was damning enough. But to add salt into the wounds of the Jeremy-is-innocent brigade he then telephones her around 3am the following morning. Why?

The third telephone call is to tell her not to go to work that morning. She is to be picked up by police and escorted to Bourtree Cottage.

The chuckle behind closed doors tells me all I need to know, Mark Williams-Thomas theatre tour or Channel 5 documentary notwithstanding.

Do you believe Julie is totally innocent and was cajoled by an evil man or do you believe she was on board and wanted a share of the spoils only going to EP when he no longer wanted to carry on with her?

Her 27 page WS does have a 'ring of truth' to me.

'Only I know what really happened that night'.

I believe Julie's head was screwed up with being in love with a conman, who told Liz Rimington he fancied breaking into a neighbour's house, and later told Robert Boutflour he could "easily kill his parents" then told cousin Ann they would soon be sharing the running of the Osea Road caravan park, which he burgled a few months before the murders. She was wined and dined at London hotels, swept off her feet with the talk of marriage, whilst attempting to continue with her studies and facing the gruelling task of teaching practice in the process of finding her feet in her chosen career, then working at Maldon Growers and shuttling between London and Essex, decorating Bourtree Cottage and ironing her boyfriend's shirts with any spare time she had left.

Not once did she complain to him, not once demanded money or criticize that whole eighteen months they were together. Had she become pregnant and moved into a council flat in Manningtree we would never have heard the last of it from the Jeremy supporters.

Supporters, guilters or undecided's often have the two extremes with Julie.

Either Jeremy said nothing at all to her. Or Julie was desperate for Jeremy to kill his family and persuaded him to go ahead.

Think both are unlikely. Her WS is the most likely.

How they can ascribe all the doings to Julie whilst keeping Jeremy in the clear beats me.

The times, dates, locations & other people present in her WS are all correct.

Jeremy telling her he didn't like his family or situation is likely to be correct. This was no secret.

The only dispute in her WS is whether he discussed killing them.

Don't believe it was ever a mousy little yes Jeremy relationship.

Believe Julie was more than capable of holding her own.

Me and Hardy boy seem to share the view she was heavily on board.

You mentioned Susan Battersby in a few of your recent posts. Wasn't there something in her statement about Jeremy being a bad influence on Julie? I think that's the premise I start from. She was besotted, had knowledge of the plan for sure, but on board is going too far. She was riding two horses of a relationship with him and pursuing her chosen career, and when the former was ruined by his murderous actions and the latter spoiled through guilt by association it's a wonder she didn't break down totally. Many a lesser woman would have done.

Fortunately she was able to pick up the pieces and carve out a new life for herself in Canada. It would be churlish in the extreme for anybody to have denied her that second chance.

Doubtful a 20 year old doing a second degree had a blood thirsty lust for money. She turned down an offer of a free house.

Jeremy was the inheritance killer who believed he was living the raw deal & had no other way out.

Julie was on board to the extent her WS says.

Yes, I believe in normal girly chit chat in the months proceeding August 85 she would have known of Jeremys killer ramblings which Julie deemed as not serious.

Her WS does not absolve her of any culpability.

A 24 year old farmer was convicted of doing so.

Do you believe a guilty Jeremy -

Said nothing to Julie.

Was encouraged by Julie.
