Well said gringo.
Thanks ngb, it is unbelievable that it still needs to be said. I would recommend that everyone reads the report of the UN Commission in its entirety. Especially those who support Israel. I suspect that it won't be read by those who need to because they understand that their support could not survive the brutal truth, so best to bury their heads.
I will "highlight" some of the most egregious incidents throughout the thread and it goes without saying that others are also free to add their own particular "lowlights?". Starting on page 12(para 34) to page 13(para 44). It lays out the massacre of Red Crescent first responders and UN staff in detail, the covering up of the massacre (bulldozing and burying the massacred along with their ambulances) and the lies told by Israeli officials/IDF.
As briefly as possible;
Two Red Crescent ambulances were sent to an incident in Tal as-Sultan. The first ambulance arrived , reported no injuries and the second ambulance turned back. Not long after contact was lost with the first ambulance and the second ambulance along with two civil defence emergency vehicles were sent to investigate.
A UN investigative team visited the site four days later. According to the Israelis, the vehicles approached without headlights on or any identifying markings and firing shots. Israel claimed to have eliminated a number of "Hamas terrorists". Spoiler alert, surprisingly to noone, nothing in that version of events is true.
The UN investigators recovered the vehicles, which had been crushed and bulldozed into the sand by the notorious "Golani Unit", along with 15 bodies.( 8 Red Crescent workers, 6 civil defence workers and 1 UNWRA worker). Crucially a mobile phone was recovered with footage that debunked in it's entirety the IDF lies.
The vehicles were clearly marked, headlights on and emergency lights on. No shots were fired from the convoy, the Golani Unit massacred 15 first responders knowingly and then lied and buried the evidence with bulldozers in a mass grave. This is but one of many evidenced atrocities in the report. The facts are indisputable and come with receipts. Read the section highlighted for the full details of the massacre described above (para 34 to 44). I have given a brief synopsis, the whole story is much worse than I can summarise briefly.
Then read the full report. Truth, no matter how painful, is needed more than ever.
