 I'm trying to fathom out why it would take so long for anyone to come forward. Police retire earlier than the norm, so even a 20 something officer would have been retired, with his pay, a few years before he supposedly came forward. What would make someone " open up " about something that happened 40 years ago ?  I don't get it, nor do I get it that the police would do anyone a favour such as this.
Sceptical ?  yes, particularly at this stage of the conviction and after years of holding back.

So who was the officer who thought he saw the rifle across Sheila's body, or the officer who hadn't seen a rifle beside her at all ? What about the time factors there ? At the very beginning of the murders, it was noted that the rifle apparently used in the killings was 18inches away from June, who was on the bedroom floor, in fact it was practically central to where the two women were lying..

If Bamber had done any staging he would have left the silencer beside Sheila and roughed her up a bit.

I did not want to be to specific Cc but just to make it look like she had been in a tussle with Nevil and June.

But she (SC) wasn't in a tussle with Nevill or June as per the pathological evidence.  SC used the rifle to inflict blows to NB.

No.  You are sounding like a prosecutor    There was no forensic/scientific reason for SC not to look as she did having carried out the murders/suicide.

I am agreeing with you, but to those who keep saying JB staged the crime scene, if he did I am sure he would have roughed up Sheila.

But if JB was the perp he would know SC would not need roughing up because he wasn't roughed up.
