Don't mind most Yorkshire accents. Some are a bit too strong in east Yorkshire. I think some Yorkshire accents can be used well for comic effect. John Shuttleworth comes to mind.

I'm not too keen on Manchester type accents.

North is and always will be better than south. I say this having lived in south london for almost 6 years as well.
