Seems RB took a snoop round bourtree September 1 85 and came to the conclusion that mud found on the tyre walls was the same mud on the brook house farm track.

RB does say that Jeremy's back garden backs on to a path.

RB does also say that after leaving bourtree cottage he walked the track to Vaulty manor. That would take 37 minutes and in the opposite direction.

He must not have had his car with him.

In his 16.12.85 statement he says he arrives at bourtree cottage. He then after inspecting the bike and Jeremy's back garden uses the tracks to walk to Vaulty Manor.

Appreciate he may have been dropped off by somebody buts it's clear he hasn't got his car with him. One can insunitate he walks 45 minutes from wix to goldhanger. I checked this on Google maps.

It gives driving times between 39 and 53 minutes. Walking may have taken a tad longer, even if he was fit!!
