Anyway every case is on its own individual merit.

Can't draw comparisons on individual cases, or reference other cases to the case of Jeremy Bamber.

Why Barry George and Sion Jenkins lost their fight for compensation I have no idea.

I know Sion Jenkins jury failed to reach a verdict at the retrial, but George was acquitted in his second trial by unanimous verdict.

In any event both their original convictions were deemed unsafe,   Jenkins wasn't convicted at retrial and they trial was discharged, this is fact  In the eyes of the law they are innocent men. No matter how much a clouded moral stance may be looked at, that's the fact of the law.

For what it's worth I believe George to be guilty, don't have an opinion on Jenkins

Seems even the cases which get through the CCRC & COA, no alternative culprit has been found.

It is just deemed that the conviction is unsafe. Usually after several appeals. Jenkins had 2 re trials.

So not many 100% innocent convicted criminals.

Jenkins on paper seemed guilty as fuck.

Can't see a lone killer going into a random back garden

What percentage of people in prison do you think are innocent?

Well in the US the percentage of people on death row who are innocent is thought to be around 4%. These are usually high profile cases, if we look at people who are sentenced to life this figure would be higher.

The cases overturned for people serving life is lower than those on death row as they are just locked up and forgotten.

Risky crime though, his daughter's were in the car waiting outside.

Must have blown up completely to do such a thing.

In the eyes of the law if your conviction is quashed you are seen as innocent. It's a right afforded to all of us. If Jenkins or George are re convicted they will be seen as guilty men.

The Stephen Lawrence case, although two of the suspects were convicted, three remain free, the Acourts and Knight because the evidence isn't there to put them over the threshold of charging. Many people believe these men to be guilty as sin, but in the eyes of the law they are innocent.

You will know the case well being a south Londoner.

Can be very hard work getting a conviction overturned.

Sion Jenkins first appeal failed.

The second appeal ordered a re trial which failed to produce a verdict.

Another re trial also failed to produce a verdict. Meaning the only trial which produced a verdict was the original one which produced a 'guilty' verdict.

However two re trials failing to produce a verdict resulted in him becoming a free man. Nine years later.

A lot consider him still guilty and new incriminating evidence has come to light. No one else has been charged with the murder.

Good luck to Jeremy.

Never doubted it's a mammoth task.

I personally think he will spend the rest of his days behind bars.

However Jeremy has always remained optimistic

He had a temper and lost it with a teenager who answered back.

Read into the case a little the other day.

Seems Jenkins ex wife is adamant of his guilt. Apparently he used to beat her and could be violent. His daughters and ex wife now live in Australia and have no contact with Jenkins. Although this of course doesn't prove his guilt.

For me, I just think it's unlikely someone was prowling in a back garden. There was an alternative suspect but by all accounts police say he had an alibi that checked out.

If Jenkins is gulity to batter a teenage girl ( his foster daughter at that ) with a tent peg after a  " cheeky remark " he must have had some temper on a hair trigger, or going through some serious psychological stress. Talk about overreaction

Wonder if he had money problems, apparently his position as Deputy head had been falsely attained  by Jenkins lying about his academic qualifications. The prosecution relied heavy on this as evidence of him lying, but in fairness this happens up and down the land on a daily basis, not saying it's right of course.

On a working week day, pretty much cuts out anyone of the 9 to 5 variety

Hopefully the CT post some photos or videos. They advertised it enough.
