This is similar to Head and Church Street.

Cycling The Sea Wall to avoid properties would mean not cycling down Head and Fish Street. An exit out of the back of 9, Head Street would be needed.

The entrance to The Sea Wall is on Fish Street. This is a foot/cycle path.

The part of The Sea Wall I can see has excellent terrain. No lighting.

Unfortunately Google maps 3D won't go down The Sea Wall.

There would be no point in cycling down Head and Fish Street to cycle The Sea Wall.

If he was going to cycle on the roads in Goldhanger, he might as well cycle Head & Church Street onto Maldon Road.

The point of cycling The Sea Wall would be to not go past a single property.

Putting it simply, the further away from the direction of Tolleshunt D'Arcy, ie, towards Heybridge, because of the curve in the land, the closer he'd be to the sea wall, ergo, if he'd have gone as far as Osea Holiday park, the properties would have been next to the sea wall.

Please don't make yourself look stupid.

The Sea Wall was totally empty at 2am. Every night of the year.

I am looking at CAL's cycle route suggestion with an open mind. Using 3D on Google maps.

Obviously EP looked at the different options. Deciding he took a route which avoided the main roads - The Sea Wall. Arriving there by avoiding Head and Church Street.
