Barking up a wrong tree there Steve. The pouch was used as a stick to beat him. The knife it held was not the murder weapon though there has been a lot of wrangling about when it was found and when it was handed in. The pathologist makes it clear it was too small to have been used for some of the injuries. The murder weapon has never been found but some believe it was discarded in a skip and was found by Tom Halliday.
