Although it was suggested by some that Thompson displayed more evil traits, Venables was the person who suggested they approach James. Also, the fact that Venables displayed emotion and cried every day in court can be used to argue that his actions were worse as he ‘knew’ what he was doing was wrong, whereas Thompson displayed more psychopathic traits and showed minimal, if any emotion.
Maybe the judge shouldnt have lifted the identity of the two boys at the conclusion of the trial ?
