No, but where was Nevill's wallet normally kept? One assumes he didn't take it with him on the tractor. His habit was to shower after work downstairs then move into the lounge for a gin and tonic. Was the wallet put in the safe during the day, or kept in a cupboard in the master bedroom? It wasn't secure in the safe anyway as Jeremy had a key, unless Barbara Wilson had changed the lock only very recently.

It's not so much that he knew where it was, it's that he knew it was missing. He didn't assume that Nevill had put it somewhere else, he became irritated because it wasn't where he looked. How would he know it was 'missing' unless he knew for certain where it was?

I'm sure he'd driven a new machine before but he could hardly pull up to a trendy nightclub in a tractor now could he? It would be about as impressive as a yellow three wheeler van!!

I don't want to bring up the wallet in the sense of doubting what you say but I do believe " other things " could mean mundane things such as for example Nevills wallet could have contained photos of Shelia and Jeremy when they were children. " other things " in a wallet can't really mean much else apart from cash and credit cards,   

Point is I am certain Jeremy had seen that wallet before when nevill was alive for a variety of mundane reasons. But like zoso says he could have rifled it and pocketed the cash. The possibility is there. It's a two way split in my opinion

Well we know what he did with the family photographs. Those which couldn't be flogged to the Sun newspaper for money went straight into the bin.

Only thing I can think of other than monetary items in a wallet are keepsakes, such as photos of your children, momentoes you know the sort.
