As far as I can see he said Israel has the right to self-defence.

     Nothing was distorted in the quote. You didn't know what an ellipsis was obviously. The meaning was exactly the same. You are very dim. I have posted nothing that is distorted. You have lost the plot. Also the phrase "turn them into rubble" and "turn to an island of ruins" have the same meaning and are a matter of interpretation. Your defence of war criminals such as Netanyahu, who has made many genocidal statements which he has followed through on, is pathetic.
"From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" implies the destruction of Israel and is therefore genocidal. Glad to see the couplet has been outlawed in Bavaria.

According to Wikipedia, he started out as part of a counter culture angst in films of the time. I assume this means Midnight Cowboy. He was anti-war regards vietnam. The page seems to imply that the killing fields of Cambodia helped change his views, as he equated it with a failure of the Marxist left to prevent such slaughter.
    All that "History according to Hollywood" melts peoples brains. The US is infected more than anywhere else. What passes as geopolitical analysis and discussion within the ruling corridors of the US is dominated by thinking that is infantile. US "heroes"- John Wayne, Superman or Captain America saving the world from the evil would be tyrants. Too many now believe their own propaganda. Saving the world from Marxism, Terrorism or whatever/whoever it is that the world requires saving from.

Video does not show Israeli helicopter shooting civilians at Supernova music festival

https://fullfact.org/news/israeli-helicopter-shooting-civilians-music-festival/
     An Israeli military helicopter fired and “hit” attendees of the Nova music festival in southern Israel during the Hamas attack on October 7, Haaretz reported on Saturday, citing a police investigation of the incident.

The report reads: “According to a police source, the investigation also indicates that an IDF combat helicopter that arrived to the scene and fired at terrorists there apparently also hit some festival participants.”

    Full report below for those interested. It is not in dispute that Israeli tanks and heliocopters killed many Israelis on 7th October. A simple search makes clear that it is admitted and a matter of record;

    Mark Regev claimed some days ago that the Israeli death count on 7th October had been reduced to 1,200 from 1,400. What was interesting about the admission was how this reduction had come about. Apparently 200 of the bodies that were burnt beyond recognition and had to be identified later turned out to be "Hamas". Now, it goes without saying that Regev is a lying, duplicitous scumbag whose every word is a lie or distortion. The only true part of his statement that is verifiable is the fact that hundreds of bodies were burnt beyond recognition. It is that fact of incinerated bodies which should lead to questions that, if we are being honest, answer themselves.
     Hamas militants, lightly armed with machine guns and grenades, simply did not possess the weaponry required to incinerate hundreds of people beyond recognition. That would take something like Hellfire missiles fired from helicopter gunships. Houses turned to rubble, likewise, was not possible with Hamas weaponry. That would take tank shells.
      Funnily enough, many witnesses testify to exactly this happening. Hamas don't have Helicopter gunships or tanks, the IDF do. Many witnesses, including IDF members, testify that the IDF fired indiscriminately and caused many of the deaths. It isn't even arguable any more.

Regev is evil. And that ambassador they wheel out is a horrific person. She is the most arrogant person I have ever seen.

   All of their "spokespersons" are sociopathic. They seem clueless how unhinged they come across to most people. Eylon Levy springs to mind. The horrific ambassador that you refer to is Tzipi Hotovely-you are right, she is horrific.

     I don't see how Israel recover from this. Their wanton slaughter of defenceless civilians in their tens of thousands in the space of a few weeks cannot and will not be allowed to lead to their dream of Greater Israel. When the hostilities end, and they will, Israel will have well earned pariah status. The world will demand and get justice for the Palestinians. Supporters of the Zio-state will be much diminished and less emboldened. Killing civilians, press in record numbers, medical staff and children openly in front of a horrified world shows only Israeli weakness. Taking out their frustrations on 2 million plus civilians, destroying their infrastructure, holding them under siege only demonstrates their impotence. They cannot defeat Hamas so threaten and bomb civilians instead. The world is disgusted by them, all decent Jews are disgusted by them. The Zionist state, if it survives, will be much weakened-the world will no longer tolerate the ongoing genocide and land theft and is now collectively strong enough to "impose new rules".

     The undeclared nukes that Israel uses to nuclear blackmail the world need bringing under control. That they have never signed the NPT and have no IAEA jurisdiction over their nuclear facilities at Dimona should trouble you, especially when they are the loudest critic of Iran's nuclear facilities which are open to the IAEA.
    Internationally recognised borders need to be imposed and overseen if necessary. Israel refuse to declare where their borders even are because they regard all of Palestine as Israel. This has to and will end. This is all pre-supposing that a two state solution is even possible at this stage. The only solution may be a single state with equal voting rights and an end to the racist Zionist ideology. A Jewish only state has proven to be not the Utopia envisioned. Instead it is a hateful, racist, expansionist and war mongering dystopia.

I'm all for United Nations involvement. UNDOF are already in Syria and Lebanon.
