I know what you're saying and I agree that coal was a national resource, which should have taken its place in the energy mix. But mass picketing was intimidatory, Scargill had hoped to repeat his triumph of 1972 and this time the Conservative government was prepared.
I don’t agree what Scargill did and how he conducted things Steve, bear in mind the 1972 strike was led by Joe Gormley, although Scargill played a pivotal role I agree.

I don’t blame Steve one bit for wanting to get away from Manchester.

What’s betting, Terrorist/Asylum or just a conspiracy?   Counter Terrorism Policing have been called in to support the probe as cops investigate the full circumstances of the harrowing attack.

So it looks like it’s not terrorist related or Asylum?    Two British nationals held over train stabbing as police say no suggestion attack terror-related

I wouldn't walk across Piccadilly Gardens at night. But then to be fair, I wouldn't walk across Clapham Common either.

Love him or hate him I think was the right call,  I don’t stand or agree with  Robinson’s beliefs, what I do stand for or against is the abuse of power by certain officers.

Tommy Robinson is found not guilty of terror offence after 'refusing to give police access to phone'

'I cannot put out of my mind that it was actually what you stood for and your political beliefs that acted for the principle reason for this stop,' the judge said.

Speaking to the former English Defence League leader, he said: 'I cannot convict you,' as he concluded Pc Mitchell Thorogood's decision to stop Robinson was based on a 'protected characteristic'.

The judge also said he found it 'concerning' that officers could not recall what they asked Robinson, and were 'confused' about what powers they had to stop him.

'What I find troubling is that PC Thorogood had already identified you,' the judge added. 'This gave the impression for an arbitrary stop about who you are and your beliefs. I find PC Thorogood had no recollection of what questions he asked you.

Mr Williamson added: 'If MI5 didn't think that Mr Lennon is a terrorist, what did Pc Thorogood think he was going to learn by asking him about publicly available information?'

He suggested Robinson travelled to Benidorm regularly, which should have lessened the officer's suspicions about him.

The lawyer said there was 'no evidence that the stop was carried out diligently or expeditiously', and that it was a 'fishing expedition' as there was nothing to link Robinson to terrorism.
