I think I've posted this city before, so apologies if you get a sense of déjà vu. I'm attracted to it because life seems so less hurried, so less stressful, and there's very little rainfall: https://youtu.be/7Cvfu8mRr0I

It is now very run down.
That's a shame. The same happened to Blackpool, as Manchester social workers of the 1980s dumped their problem population onto the resort: the alcoholics, the drug-dependents, the single parent families, the mentally ill, all squeezed into ramshackle bedsits, with the Labour Party under Tony Blair turning the nose up and rejecting the venue for a Labour Party conference. https://www.lancs.live/news/lancashire-news/weve-been-coming-blackpool-50-32028192

Brighton is bad but Hastings is even worse.  Part of it of course is economic decline resulting from the virtual collapse of seaside holiday tourism in Britain, replaced with cheap foreign holidays.

I always thought Brighton was an exception, that it had weathered the storm to some extent and still attracted the well heeled. Still, the bright side is that property prices will be more reasonable.

There are some reasonably upmarket parts of Hove but the main part of Brighton is very shabby.

I agree I did like Hove more than Brighton, I was shocked at Brighton when I went last year.

Try Skegness NGB not the same since the Miners Holiday centre was closed down, the standard of clientele dropped at Skegness once us Miners stopped going  ;D. Steve might like it there though, he’s not upper class like like us.

At one time in 2023 when I called in Skegness, 5 hotels on the sea front were being used to house migrants.

As I think you know HB I lived in Skegness for four years long ago.  I saw some of the same entertainment acts that you did I think. I am not sure Steve would have approved!  I know it has changed a lot.
