I booked some the day before Steve, i also changed my train travel on the day, i should have caught the 12.32 train from St Pancras back home, but realised i could make the 11,32 train, so i changed it two hours before hand.  You wouldn't be able to do that on normal train tickets, with interrail it lets you do it.  I'm looking at longer periods, i want to do the sleeper trains around Europe that are  included in interrail travel.

I was nervous with the interrail at first NGB but not about the accomadation booking, but it's a great way of travelling around Europe and it was very easy to navigate the interrail app.  The Canals were my main interest, the Midi and Garonne was such an engineering feat and when you see the work on the aquaducts you wonder how they did it,  the Midi the oldest of the two and started in 1666, i didn't have enough time to cover all the Du Midi canal, so i will have to go back and then visit Sete. 

I don't know if you have been to Il De Re NGB, but an interesting thing i picked up on the Island, the jail on there housed two high profile prisoners for a while so it's reported, Papillon [Henry charriere] and Dreyfus.

That is really interesting HB.  You really seem to be having a great time exploring, in ways I have never thought of.  You should post more with photos if possible because I am sure that a lot of members would like to hear more.

If you download Interrail site NGB, it looks quite daunting at first, but you can work out cost's etc, but when you download the App for Interrail it becomes quite easy.  The only thing with Eurostar, you have to check that room is available for an interrail pass. 

Check in with Eurostar was quite straight forward, i took the Brompton with me so i didn't have to book a cycle space [travelling with unfolded cycles on Eurostar is not straight forward]  my Brompton carried my Luggage for me where ever i went, because i want to go for longer and this was a taster for me,  i limited myself to 40 euro's a day for food, i could have gone more expensive, but as a traveller on the move i wanted to see if i could do it, and it was easy to do and i ate quite well.

At one time i was going to do a You tube channel of my travels NGB, i wanted to include and show the benefits of cycling for older people with knee osteoarthritist and how cycling helps the knee joints, the biggest thing it did for me was lowering my resting heart rate, it averages about 49/50/51 each night.

I found the Editing really hard NGB although i paid for a website, i did do one for the Canal trust with my Drone, filming a Narrowboat on the canal which they liked.  It was a lot of hard work trying to get drone footage of me cycling and staging the camera in places to film me ride, it was easy just having the camera on the bike and filming, but this becomes a boring Video.

Have a look at this Guy, THE BROMPTON TRAVELLER, he follows the river Rhine from Rotterdam to it's source through the Alps, he then travels to Italy.  Have a look how he carries his gear for such a small Bike.

He takes a false credit card Steve, he gives this tip in one of his videos, his real one is hidden, I took his advice, my cycling jacket has a secret zip compartment that a credit card fits in.

The Brompton Bike Steve is remarkable for its size, it folds really compact and easy to carry about, they do one in Titanium that only weighs just over 7kg.  They also do electric Brompton.

Yes, I have been following the story along with others missing in similar circumstances: Dr Mosley and a Californian hiker.  I think the crucial difference here is H20.  Dr Mosley apparently had a 'small' bottle of water.  Jay Slater was by all accounts without water.  The Californian walker was able to procure water in a boot.  Obviously we do not know whether Dr Mosley and Jay Slater were able to procure water.  If they were unable to then it would put them at peril of dehydration.

I think Dr. Mosley may have been fasting according to his dietary system and lost his balance. It's surely not recommended in that heat and unfamiliar terrain.

That's a really good point.  I followed Rishi Sunak's 36 hour fasting a couple of times earlier in the year.  The actual fasting was easy but I hated the lack of energy.  Can't imagine what it might have been like in the heat on a trek.
