No I think MI5 were listening in to their conversations.

Wonder why SJ didn't ask Julie to tape Jeremy talking to her about the murders? Only one reason, he never did.

Interesting.

It was a case of tidying up any loose ends by SBJ, otherwise called manipulation.  Surely, police officers are not supposed to work when 'off work'?

Regarding the fraud department already knowing, is this the bank or police?

The fraud department of the bank

Hi Susan, she certainly was a strange one! IIRC she lied in court by saying that she had received a caution for fraud. In actual fact she had received immunity against prosecution if she testified against Jeremy. The jury were misled on many points weren't they?!!

Caroline, I fail to understand why, over the year in which he was planning this deed, she didn't confide in ANYONE, nor it seems, did she have any kind of conversation with him about his reasons for wanting to resort to such an extreme action.

We have been over this many times, but why, oh why, did she leave sleeping pills at Jeremy´s place when he alledgedly had talked about using such a drug on his family, then burn down the house? How could she have sighed with relief because she knew he had ditched his plans when he called her on the night of the murders and said, Tonight is the night, it is now or never. ??? (Makes no sense - at all - to understand that statement the way she claims.)
If we are to take her words at face value, she could have warned Jeremy´s family of the imminent danger and SAVED them.
I don´t GET this shite! There is no logic in her statements.
My only conclusion is: either she was in on the whole thing, even proactively providing sleeping pills and absolutely accessory to murder by not warning the victims, OR she made the whole thing up (to get back at Jeremy and/or to get herself out of a very tight legal spot concerning her criminal activity.)
In neither scenario she comes out smelling of roses, sorry Steve, she just doesn´t!

Alias, I think the reason we've gone ove it so many times is because, to most of us it seems inconceivable that any woman could KNOW of these intentions for a whole year and say NOT A WORD to anyone. Surely her own sense of self preservation would have seen her dropping hints to SOMEBODY. My conclusion is exactly that of your own.

Hi April

Most 'normal' women would not want to hang out with a guy who constantly bangs on about murdering his family including small children.

Personally, I think Mr J threatened to charge her as an accessory 'unless' she became a witness for the prosecution and it all started from there.

Absolutely correct there NaNu, but if the woman concerned decided to hang around because there could be something in it for her, I guess she wouldn't fit into the accepted criteria of what generally passes as "normal." :D :D

That is very, very possible. They had 32 sessions prior to the trial - they must have had a lot to talk about...

A tad, but not for Julie. Wonder if she thought she could use it in any way to give to the poor?  :P
