I can’t make out his notes very well Rob, but in his statement he does start off by saying, about 3.45am I can’t make out but it might be 3.39 or 3.59 am in his notes is that what you mean?

He says 3.39 in his notes and 3.45 in his statement RJ

Yes no sign of life, but it was 4.00 in the morning? If he had been banging of the the for ten minutes I could understand the comment.

It's why Bews and Myall both fail to mention calling in armed police that bugs me, probably the only time they have ever done this and they don't mention it!
If you follow the links it explains it Rob, at 4.00am Adams gets wind of a fire arms incident via radio chatter, he radios in that they are a firearms team ect, it gives three different times as to what time Bews rings in, 4.00 am 4.09 am and 4.11 am. Harris who has to give authority isn’t contacted till 4.16/4.18. If there was any report of fire arms team needed before hand, Harris would have been contacted sooner, because he has to give authority.  Adams who has got wind of this is already making his way back to HQ on the presumption he’s needed he might have been told to via Bonnet earlier just in case?

Let's turn this around. Firstly, if there was no sighting and there is nothing in the available case evidence to suggest otherwise, what triggered Bamber to mention it? And when did he mention it?

Secondly, if Bamber didn't pass a note to Rivlin, what instead, triggered Rivlin to question Bews about it in the firs place?

I did read about the note somewhere Roch, sorry but cannot remember where?

It's the time Myall says they left for WHF, I would expect the time in his statement to match his notes?

Forget the note for now Rob. Imagine there is no note. What was the trigger for Rivlin to question Bews about it?

Yes that’s what I thought Rob, he does say About though, he might have confirmed with Bews later when they made up their statements it was nearer 3.45 am.  Saxilby also has 3,39 am in his notes.

Wasn't the sighting supposed to have been the reason for the TFG being there, or why did they go for just a shadow ?

The only mention of this I can find is below. It would be good if Mike can upload all of Bews testimony
Thanks David.

Can anyone explain why Rivlin brought it up at trial?

So he was asked then about it and no note was needed?  So Bamber had his chance to say he/they saw a figure, because the Campaign team claim Bamber saw it as well.

It's just that 3.39 ties up with West's log of JB's call, so this worries me.

The way Rivlin questioned Bews on this and suggested it was a trick of the light does suggest it was a spur of the moment thing?

RJ won't help us work it out, so we'll have to do it ourselves Rob  ;)

Yes, it was Rivlin who'd suggested it was a trick of the light so those concerned so it was passed off as such and Bews had agreed. When JB was being questioned he thought he might have been asked about the " movement " via the window also but wasn't. So JB had obviously fully expected there to have been chapter and verse on this but it never happened.
I'd have butted in if I'd been JB and told them all to hang on----how gormless was he ?  ::)

The opportunity wasn't there for the jury to challenge it, simple as that.
