Have you read his trial testimony?  If not its in the library here.  Obviously he talks about finding the silencer and his contact with it thereafter.

So why is his trial testimony totally different to his statement? Was he trying to protect someone when he made his first statement? DB told the truth at trial I believe, but he lied when making his statement.

Best you read DB's first statement and then what he said at trail.
