The programme could have done this scenario. Which matches the crime scene. It would only take up 15 minutes of the series.
Preferably at the beginning of the series. A lot of viewers would have known Bamber had been convicted. Viewers that didn't would quickly realise he was the bad guy.
Or they could have showed it at the end of the series. The final scene being Bamber ringing the police.

Pity not much thought went into her book. How much easier it is to write about a condemned man than to use your brain !
