Why change clothes at WHF?

He is 15 minutes away from his cottage. Where he can change & put the clothes he wore in the washing machine.

Granted and I don’t disagree, I made a point that if he did change clothes (which we don’t know if he did) he could hide and change anywhere outside, wash traces of blood off etc outside in the buildings, then come back in clean, leaving no traces when he puts the silencer away and exits, he’s not confined to the house at this stage.

What would be brought back to his cottage?

Possible a few drops of blood on his clothes. Which would have dried by the time he arrived back. These clothes were going straight into the washing machine.

It's possible his cleaning up took place both at WHF & his cottage.

Believe his main focus at WHF would be to carry out the massacre, stage the scene & get back to his cottage as soon as possible.

May have washed his hands at WHF. If there was  blood on them at any time.

Except had he got home -from work?!!!!!-, taken his clothes off and thrown them in the washing machine, they'd still probably have been going round when the police went to interview him. He wasn't a supect. They wouldn't have given it a second thought. By the time they may have, several days later, any evidence would have been long gone.

Bamber could wash his clothes at his cottage & put them away before going to meet the police.

A wash only takes around 45 minutes.

He could certainly have washed them had he had enough time. It wouldn't have mattered if he'd left them in the washing machine. Drying, without a tumble dryer might have been difficult.

A shirt can be put on a coat hanger & left to dry naturally. Jeans dry quickly & so would a wet suit

A shirt can be put on a coat hanger & left to dry naturally. Jeans dry quickly & so would a wet suit

Don't know what sort of jeans you wear, Adam. Mine take ages to dry even now, with added Lycra. I agree it would be better to have them out of sight when the police visited. One of them MAY have made a connection. Best not give them the opportunity.

Probably right about jeans.

They should be damp rather than soaking wet when coming out of the washing machine. The last thing a washing machine does is give the clothes a spin.

Thankfully, they've come a long way since fabric from De Nimes created work trousers for Americans, but they, and super size, thick, fluffy bath sheets remain the worst things in the world to get dry.

Yes, the wind whistles through some of my hand towels at the moment ( past their best ) my reason for using them as only two bath sheets fit comfortably in the machine----then there's the drying

I rather begrudge giving all that machine time over to washing jus one or two items!!!
