I'm afraid there's going to be a huge have/have not divide later down the line for some of our young. Not all parents are cut out to be home teachers and some won't care whether their children learn or scive. Still, with a lack of available jobs, it won't much matter whether they have degrees or are uneducated. It's likely to be a level playing field.
Plus the housing shortage must be at critical levels in the South East Jane. It's bad enough in the nicer areas of the North, though there are empty dwellings up here in the least desirable parts that nobody wants to live in.

We're presently housing those from London in temporary accomodation which are ex office blocks. Families with small children next door to drug addicts who leave their paraphernalia where children can reach it.

It's really grim for some and will get steadily worse. Makes me feel quite ill if I dwell on it too much.

It reminds me of Blackpool Jane. In the 1980s Northern councils shunted many of their problem tenants into bed and breakfast accommodation at the seaside resort, and they wonder why tourist numbers have dropped off.

Once June had the children and then the grandchildren she was happy enough taking a back seat which she'd have continued to do and let the younger ones take over.
Media too has helped a lot in the glamping trade with their various programmes of staycation breaks/holidays over the years.
Must admit though Lookout, the area Osea sits in doesn’t do much for me, looking out to the Blackwater 😂😂😂. I bet it got its name from the nuclear plant at Bradwell and if the Chinese have their way it will soon be up and running again, dip your toes in that 🙈
