Im sure NGB will remove if so, posters accuse the family of being involved.

I think that depends on his family circumstances - if he had British relatives - and if he planned to work. I know that you could go to NZ for a year without a visa at that time if you were British, so possibly it was the same the other way round.

Coincidentally, my godson's brother has recently posted a picture of his previously lost, but sentimental passport which took him to NZ 15 years ago. He had a 6 month visa and it stated that he would have to leave when this expired. Actually he got married and has never left.

I went to NZ in the '80s, but I can't remember having a visa as such. You could apply to stay for longer than 6 months - up to a year I think. If you planned to work there you would need a work permit I guess.

Well, he says he went to live at a Private persons house, no name or how long.  He never said, I went to live with such and such, this is where the police slipped up.  They just relied on his passport I think Jane.

RJ, He wasn't staying "at a Private person's house" here. It was where he was staying in Greece when he learned about the murders.

Yes that’s what I’m saying Jane, but not very good 🙈🙈🙈 they don’t seem to follow up on his movements for me, there is no, where did you stay and who with, have you got an address ect. He just says he stayed with a private person offering nothing else so it could be checked.

I wonder if NGB knows the reason why, or if any are available.  Hope he reads this.

Although a stenographer was in court taking notes of all the evidence a full transcript is never prepared.
The defence in presenting grounds of appeal requests transcripts to be prepared of specific parts of the evidence which are relevant to the grounds of appeal.  It is possible to obtain a full trancript but it is extremely expensive.

I imagine they just relied on his passport, RJ. Unless there was a way of him slipping back, undetected, into the Country, and leaving again, I think suspecting otherwise could be dead ended.

RE. Brett Collins, he’s here for X number of weeks before the murders took place, he then fly’s out to Greece just prior to the murders and returns after the murders,  he comes back  with a plan to stay till Christmas, he had this plan to stay till Christmas because him and Bamber could live it up, it’s at this stage he plans to rid Julie out the relationship.  Bamber is arrested and he’s questioned so he scarpers away?  In between all this for the short  time Brett was here precisely just  before the murders, Bamber must have discussed his dislike of his parents, he told him about his mother giving money away and Bamber didn’t like this  and the fact  he hated his mother.

Mmmm Can anyone else smell the coffee I’ve just poured?

Breaking this down, RJ, is it possible that they confirmed a plan, between them, which was already in an embryonic state, in which Brett deliberately "disappeared", only to return when it was completed, to enjoy the spoils? Did they, in boyish eagerness, overlook that Jeremy had a 'permanent' girlfriend who already knew about the embryonic plan? Was it then that she became surplus to requirements?

I have no doubt that Jeremy's views about his mother's money were already known to Brett. Didn't Jeremy send a request for more money when he was in Oz, only to be met with a refusal? I feel something less than complimentary would have been said of her at that time. It was probably expanded on whilst Brett was staying at Goldhanger.

Good point and I did think about that Jane, he could have mentioned it then as well, but I do get the feeling it was while he was over as well because of his referral to June giving money to Church and about her depression. Julie was very much surplus to requirements to the life style he intended.

I find it both strange as well as suspicious that these different individuals appeared at that time. Besides Brett Collins, there was a " long-lost " relative of the family from South Africa and also the  sudden visit from AP who nobody had seen for nigh on a year. Some peculiar goings on.

Thanks Lookout, will try and find it later.  I’m with you very peculiar, having said that, Farming and holiday park business is very very strange.  Law’s unto themselves all of them
