She only believes Jeremy is guilty because Caroline does. But will never admit it. Thus there is no point asking Jane these questions. You will never get a straight answer.

This is common knowledge among longtime members here.
Are you a longtime member David? It's certainly not common knowledge as far as I'm concerned.

The reason for JB's arrogance was to show the force that he was innocent with the intent to get one up on them because he knew himself he was telling the truth, EP hadn't liked his attitude , and sadly his cockiness backfired------------all because Essex police didn't like him ! Not because he supposedly killed anyone.

A clash of personalities got him jailed, is my belief.

..that he blamed June for dropping him on the head as a baby, which may have exacerbated his condition and in any case precluded him from a career as a deep sea diver in New Zealand, that she broke up his relationship with Suzette and threatened disinheritance, the stress of which may have led to her miscarriages, that he blamed Nevill for sending him away to school for eight years, where he struggled to compete with the other boys, that his parents in his view favoritized Sheila over himself by buying her a London flat and paying for her medical bills, that in the near future they were planning to send the twins to private school with a further drain on his inheritance, that he told Len Foakes "if anything happened" he would just pack up and leave..
..that Nevill made a will which tied Jeremy to the farming industry, a will which Jeremy had foreknowledge of, that he could only overturn if all were dead..

There's much circumstantial evidence even without Julie's, which Mr. Justice Drake advised the jury to treat with a good deal of caution anyhow.

Do you know enough about Sheila Caffell to be comfortable with the latter scenario?
do you want me to address you as a prospective member of the jury or as the bloke down the local pub man of the world type scenario?

He also told the jury that it was Sheila's blood on the silencer and therefore it must be Jeremy who's the killer. I'm sorry but that old fool was out of order saying that to the jury.

DS Jones whether you believe Jeremy was innocent was a old school working class dectective wasn't he? From the council estates. And he's faced with a posh country boy farmer , they are not exactly going to bond and play dominoes are they???

Ignorance is not a crime:it just means you're not fully acquainted with the facts. I never criticize it.  Bluffing by others has not become unknown to me in my chosen career down the years. I asked a simple question but will rephrase: are you sure that you know enough about Sheila's medical condition, her state of mind and her physicality to be certain she was capable of the slaughter that morning?

But even if it was an intimate mix of Nevill and June's blood it would still mean Sheila returning to the gun cupboard to replace the silencer, then proceeding upstairs to the master bedroom to shoot herself.

DSJones didn't like nor get on with Jeremy from the start, so that was a help towards his conviction then when the relatives joined in he didn't stand a chance.

The man should never have been left in charge of such an enormous case. Totally unfit.
