However, there is some dispute about the timing detailed in this log. The log details - Time Received 03.36 am.

Jeremy had a meeting with a journalist called David James Smith during an approved arranged visit to Full Sutton Prison. David James Smith was writing for the Sunday Times magazine and wrote the following in his article –
‘Bamber called the Essex Police in the early hours of August 7. He did not dial 999, but rang through to the local station at Chelmsford at around half-three. “You’ve got to help me” he said “My father has just rung me and said, “Please come over. Your sister has gone crazy and has got the gun.” Then the line went dead. Jeremy said he tried calling back but could not get a reply.’At the end of the day it may all come down to Jeremy’s word against those of three unrelated flatmates.
