Nope, no error here - read the article below.

Might it be that "lack of activity" = lack of interest?

You can simply remove the letter s from https://www. So the url begins with http://www.
Anyone visiting the forum from Google ect is going to get this error until someone here buys a trusted SSL certificate.

Do the owners of this site ever intend on getting a valid SSL certificate?
At the moment we have a self signed certificate for a site called "actingmechanics.com". Looks totaly dodgy and anyone visiting this site from any major search engine is going to be blocked by default. It defeats the whole purpose of having a SSL certificate in the first place.

Not many people would think to search for the cert. However, I think we should be grateful to the person that pays to keep the forum up and running and I don't see why they should have to fork out more. I'm sure no one would complain if you wanted to make a donation and buy a SSL cert?

Any web browser lets people see the certificate (see attached)

Even if I wanted to buy one. it would not work since you have to prove you own the domain or have control over the website.
You can obtain one for free here https://letsencrypt.org/
(https://letsencrypt.org/) The setup process is not easy but I do not mind helping if this is opted for.
Alternativley you can get a basic one for under £10.

Has anything been considered since I posted this? I don’t think it’s OK to continue with the current setup, specially since it can be resolved for free.

Why are you so interested, I thought you were leaving the forum or have you not yet finished 'using' it to reply to the red forum?

Why are you so interested,
I have a background in IT. Its a problem I can help resolve, so why not? :-\

Back in Februrary I did message NGB asking him to delete my account. However I got no reply. So it looks like I am here to stay.

You got no reply because when you apply to delete your account your PM facility is automatically disabled. When you reversed your application your PM facility was reinstated but you then started posting again so I assumed you had changed your mind.

So do I. However, the host offers the service should it be required.

He means he used a link to the thread and not the index page.
