Why? He had not lived there for years. Besides which always a chance one of the doors could be opened with a key.

Bamber either forgot to bring them (although Nevill said 'Please come over), or never had any.

Pretty sure Jeremy mentions having keys in police questioning.

Keys are no use when a place is locked/bolted from the inside though. Because the children were there there'd have been extra caution too-----sadly not that that made any difference when the crime was an inside job.
