The jury did know the police told her Sheila's body was on the bed and the bible was on her chest. As Rivlin brought up her statement stating such. This was to demonstrate the two possible sources for Julie's Mugford's factually inaccurate testimony, The police or Ann Eaton.

However Ann Eaton's notes would have been very useful as it could have allowed them to bring up the fact she wrote down Jeremy missed the rabbits and the silencer was removed from the gun. Further contradicting her claim of thinking rabbit blood was on the silencer as a result of what Jeremy told her. Just like they should have brought up her September 8th statement contradicting her rabbit blood story all together.

They didn't need her notes, the point about Jeremy 'missing' the rabbits is in her statement but you have misinterpreted her use of the word 'missing'.

What may we deduce from that he "missed" the rabbits? If he faffed around, making a point of loading the gun, it's hardly surprising that the hadn't hung around waiting to be shot -that's if they'd ever been there in the first place- or, did he go out, all guns blazing, so to speak, and missed them, as in misfired? Had it been the latter, surely the bullet casings would have been found?

In her 13th Nov statement AE recounted the following in respect to what Bamber said about the rabbits. It's clear by the use of the term he 'missed them', he must have initially indicated that he tried to shoot them but 'missed' because he is then asked how many shots he fired - he is evasive and never really gives and answer. This is because he has realised that if the police go looking for the spent bullets/cartridge cases, none will be found and is why he changed his story for his statement to indicate no shots were fired because the rabbits were gone when he went outside. Perhaps this is the reason Rivlin didn't wish to push too much on the rabbit saga?

It just seems SO very strange that none of the Jeremy squad has questioned his story in any way. It's almost as if Jeremy held court. Like he had a script that he referred to -actually, it's more a soliloquy, because there's no evidence of two way dialogue -or what any dialogue consisted of- between him and any of the victims.

Here we are, the proof of the pudding - what Ann Eaton was told by police regarding the whereabouts of Sheila's body as told to her by two of the police officers who had been at the scene, who had been inside the main bedroom before going with Jeremy to his cottage and the relatives joining them within the hour. DS Jones and DC Clark had seen Sheila's body laid on top of the bed with a bible on her chest, the gun resting on the bed beside her body (and she had been shot under the chin...

One or other, or both coppers who attended Jeremy's cottage that morning got the positioning of the other victims bodies right if we go by Ann Eatons contemporaneously written notes - Neville Bamber in kitchen near scuttle, badly shot. Twins in bed, shot. June on floor, near door - 'SHEILA ON BED, BIBLE ON CHEST. GUN BESIDE HER. SHOT UNDER CHIN'...

Ann Eaton could not know that Sheila's body was laid on top of the bed, with a bible on her chest, and the gun laid resting on the bed next to her body. She couldn't have made that part up all by herself! The gun therefore had been resting on the bed next to Sheila's body, long before PC Bird photographed the same rifle resting against the inside of the main bedroom window...

Then, of course, there is the rather embarrassing matter of Ann Eaton being told that Sheila had only been shot once under the chin!

If Sheila was only shot once under the chin by the time DS Jones and DC Clark visited the bedroom, it begs the question at what time did she receive the second shot? The second shot must have been (and was) after Jones and Clark had left the scene to go with Jeremy to his cottage..

THIS BEING SO, HOW WAS IT POSSIBLE FOR JEREMY BAMBER TO HAVE SHOT DEAD HIS SISTER?

IF A SILENCER WAS USED TO SHOOT HER WITH ON THE SECOND OCCASION, WHY DID SOCO PHOTOGRAPH THE SAME RIFLE IN SHEILA'S POSSESSION ON THE BEDROOM FLOOR, MINUS THE SILENCER?

IF A SILENCER WAS USED IN THE SHOOTING OF SHEILA CAFFELL, WHY DID POLICE PRETEND THAT THEY HADN'T KNOWN ABOUT, OR SEEN, OR SEIZED A SILENCER AT THE SCENE ON THE FIRST MORNING OF THE INVESTIGATION?

Ann Eaton knows the truth, she recorded evidence to confirm what she had been told by coppers that had been to the scene, and who both had seen Sheila's body laid on top of the bed, with a bible resting on her chest, and the rifle laid on the body next to her body...

Because someone must have told her that Sheila was found on the left side of the bed and she took it literally.

Because someone must have told her that Sheila was found on the left side of the bed and she took it literally.

Ann Eaton wrote 'ON BED', nobody forced her to keep notes, she introduced these into the COLP Investigation, but forgot to produce them during the 1986 trial (rather conveniently). She also recorded the fact that Sheila was found with a bible on her chest, but the bible was eventually photographed on the floor next to her body! She wrote that the rifle was near to her body, but in the crime scene photographs taken after police moved her body with the bible on her chest onto the floor, the rifle was placed on top of Sheila's body, where the bible had originally been. She recorded what she had been told by either Jones or Clark, and was told that when they had seen Sheila's body laid on the bed that she had been shot under the chin, not that she had been shot twice...

If these handwritten notes had been made available to the defence at the time of the trial they would have opened up a can of worms - because cops moved the body, they moved the bible, and they moved the gun..

Cops told Ann Eaton (Mrs Marples) that Nevilles body was in the kitchen, badly shot, that the twins were in bed shot, and that June Bambers body was by the door (without stating how many times she had been shot)…

The key piece of evidence relating to the number of times a victim were shot, is self explanatory!

Neville had been badly shot - accurate

Twins had been shot in their beds - - accurate without being specific

June on the floor near door - accurate without being specific

Sheila on bed, bible on chest, gun beside her. Shot under chin - accurate

Ann Eaton was too clever for her own good, because if cops hadn't told her on the first morning of the police investigation into these shootings, then the only other explanation was that she knows who the real killer(s) are / were, because she couldn't have plucked all this detailed information out of thin air at such short notice, she had to have either been told what she wrote down in her notes by the police who had been there at the scene and who had seen Sheila's body laid on the bed, with the bible on her chest, and the gun beside her, with a shot under the chin - there is no other way Ann Eaton could have known these details without someone telling her about it, and the only way someone could provide Ann Eaton with such graphic details so early in the police investigation was if what they told her was true at the time they had seen it, and recounted it within an hour of having seen it …

Unfortunately..

Cops moved Sheila's body off the left hand side of the bed, they had already moved the bible off her chest, and they had already moved the rifle that had been on the bed beside her body, and once they placed her body onto the bedroom floor the police were responsible for inflicting the second shot - there can be no other explanation, and neither DS Jones or DC Clark knew anything at all about these events once they had left the scene to go with Jeremy to his cottage...

Jones and Clark spilled the beans to Ann Eaton, putting the cart before the horse, so to speak...

Now, before we go any further, I would like to remind you all that Sheila's body was photographed laying on the left hand side of her parents bed, with no bible on her chest, there was no gun resting beside her body, and she had only been shot once to the neck - in this photograph there was no large triangular bloodstain on the upper right hand side of her nightdress. This was the photograph that I took for Jeremy from the file at Ewen Smiths office, which prison security intercepted after I posted it in to Jeremy at HMP Full Sutton...

Here at last, is some corroborating proof that Sheila was on the left hand side of the bed, sporting a wound through neck!!

I am convinced that Ann Eaton, and the other relatives found out about the fact that the police were responsible for inflicting the fatal shot which the pathologist, Peter Venezis, stated had killed Sheila Caffell, instantaneously...

The relatives knew the truth - they know that Jeremy hadn't shot and killed his sister, this can be borne out by referring to the fact that when she made out her hand written note of 7th August 1985, she originally described the fact that she had been told that Sheila had been shot through the chin, but corrected it later on, once the relatives had used what they knew to get the police on board and prosecute Jeremy for the murders. Once cops did that, Ann Eaton altered her note from 'shot through chin', into 'shot UNDER chin'..

Mike, I am pretty sure you wouldn't take something on face value without having seen evidence of it yourself? I'm the same - I have not seen such a photograph and until I do, I maintain that Ann Eaton took the statement literally.
