The other rather disturbing feature which leaps out of the evidence given in one format or other by David Boutflour, concerns the existence of the elongated scratch mark along the outside of the silencer in question - since when the first silencer was taken to the lab' by Cook on the 13th August 1985, there is no record by either Cook or Glynis Howard that such an elongated scratch mark 1" in length was present upon the outside of 'that' (SJ/1 (22) silencer..

It appears to me that the existence of the 1" elongated scratch mark on the outside of one of the two silencers served to distinguish one of the two silencers from the other - and that the first silencer taken to the lab' on 13th August 1985 did not have this distinctive elongated scratch mark upon it (but more than likely the second one handed over to police by Ann Eaton on 11th September 1985, almost certainly did..

And then of course, there is the matter of the fingerprinting of the first silencer (SJ/1, 22) by Cook on 15th August 1985 (oblique light test) and 23rd August 1985 (superglue treatment), and no fingerprints found upon that silencer, and yet by his own admission whilst testifying during the trial David Boutflour stated that the silencer he was referring to with the elongated 1" scratch mark upon it had his fingerprints all over it...

This brings me onto the second silencer which DS Eastwood and DS Davison fingerprinted on 13th September 1985...

The results of this fingerprint examination of the second silencer (DRB/1) carried out on 13th September 1985, have thus far not yet been disclosed...

This brings me onto yet another disturbing turn of events regarding the fact that DS Eastwood / DS Davison were fingerprinting the DRB/ exhibits a day before David Boutflour supposedly handed them over to the police?

Here are the 16 typed pages of the recently discovered David Boutflour statement, dated 17th September 1985:-

Let us not overlook the fact that there were 43 original handwritten pages, and that a great deal of editing may have taken place (the edited out parts may be very revealing)..
