It's starting to feel nasty.  My shoulder feels like its' been pulled out of its' socket  :))

Well I'm, not gong to argue about it   ;D - most people associate a laceration with a major cut. I'll go with the Oxford dictionaries interpretation.

A deep cut or tear in skin or flesh.
‘he suffered lacerations to his head and face’
mass noun ‘his death was due to multiple skull fractures with laceration of the brain’

A laceration is not as bad as it sounds.

When people hear the word laceration they tend to have an impression of something worse than what it means. Contrary to an incision.
