I don't know if this is straying off topic but the one journalist who did meet Bamber is David James Smith. http://davidjamessmith.net/pdf_articles/DJS_bamber.pdf

Of course people write books about people without having met them. It's called a biograhy.

Which is usually about themselves ( the author )

That would make it an AUTObiography.

what led carol ann lee to the conclusions she came to.

Poor critical thinking skills.
"Truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is."

"The idea that he could invent a tale of a killing spree by a mentally disturbed woman to be lent credibility by further violent episodes over the following decades is hard to credit."

Well everyone has personal experiences and maybe their deductions are coloured therefrom. I identify with Julie as a hard-pressed individual juggling multifarious balls(with a surveillant waiting in the wings just waiting for failure) who went with the flow to a tragic outcome and I'm inclined to view her more sympathetically, whereas others may view her as an opportunist with an eye to the main chance. Lookout with her medical experience evidently views this aspect of the case as the most important, so the spotlight falls on Sheila and her condition. Mike and David who understand firearms are more likely to scrutinize this part of the case. Anyone who was adopted like Jane might emphasize this aspect and see it as a contributory factor in the murders.

Why are you mentioning Mike and David ?
Ngb knows a lot of guns and we know his stance
Not only is Ngb knowledgeable about guns he is an expert on legal matters as you well know

Yes he is and I don't want to personalize it just because Ngb1066 is on the forum. There are other barristers who have also worked pro bono to wangle Jeremy off on a technicality, whatever private opinions they may hold. I suppose it goes with the territory of that particular profession.

I read it a while ago and it's funny but I can't remember her coming to a definitive conclusion.

Might have been an opinion but I honestly can't remember .

There were some bits in the book I did not know , but  there were some bits that were not accurate.

Might revisit it sometime .

Colin's book is interesting but a very difficult read in more ways than one .
