Do you find it believable though Caroline?  was the coal seams in your area more out under the sea Caroline?

Someone is defo barking but it wasn't Sheila. Yes, lived near Easington, Seaham and Murton.
I know Easington did undersea coal workings.

The colliery area, is pretty run down now. Much of Billy Elliot was made there before it became the blot that it is now. Sad!

Yes, Alnwick Street was demolished in 2002  :-[. Much of Easington Colliery looks like this the following picture now. They usually place people who have just left prison there for a while - there are been some very notorious people gracing these streets over the last 10 years or so.
