The disappearance of Steven Cooke
« on: February 17, 2017, 05:59:PM »
In the early hours of September 1 2005 Liverpool University student Steven Cooke vanished from the Cretan resort of Malia on the first night of his holiday after going to a local bar with two friends. One of the friends stayed at the bar whilst Steven and another friend headed back to the Hotel Frixos, but were persuaded by a tour representative to enter another bar, where the friends became separated in the throng. Steven has never been seen since. He is from a close family from Sandbach, Cheshire and it would be completely out of character for him to abscond.

A man of his description was noted as selling trinkets in Pefkos, Rhodes, but with this latest development it looks as if Steven had met with some accident in the resort.  http://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/national/human-skeleton-discovered-in-well-in-greek-resort-near-where-brit-tourist-steven-cook-vanished-12-years-ago/ar-AAn2BWV?li=AAmiR2Z&ocid=spartanntp

This has just been on News North West,Steve, where it's been reported that remains have been found near to where the man vanished, but at this early stage it can't be said if the remains are that of Steven or a woman. One or two fragments of clothing along with a camera ( I think ) were found on and near the remains.
There had been a false alarm once before when a body/remains were washed up but when identified,it was found to have been female.

My heart goes out to the family. What must be running through their minds tonight? https://youtu.be/U3tAcMismf4

Yes,I know. It's a terrible thought. His brother gave an interview on the local news. Imagine being in limbo for 12 years, poor things.
There may be some more news tomorrow.

Apparently Steven's remains have been found in a well. How they got there remains a mystery.  http://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/remains-of-missing-briton-found-in-crete-well/ar-AAnjRtk?ocid=spartanntp
