Even if assume Jeremy is guilty. He is not on the same level of depravity as Ted Bundy.  Cannan could have matched or even surpassed Bundys kill count had he not been caught.

Cannan and Bundy killed for sexual gratification, Bamber for money. Bundy also practised cannibalism and necrophilia as did Luka Magnotta and Jeffrey Dahmer, the motive for which is beyond most people's comprehension.

Under the terms of the will Jeremy was tied to the Farm for the duration of his parents' lifetimes and I think Nevill realized his son had been snooping when he requested a new safe key from Barbara. If Nevill died and June survived the estate would pass to June, whom Jeremy believed had been stingy to him, and if both parents died Jeremy would have to share his inheritance with Sheila, and we know from Doris Foakes his opinion on that front. Only with the death of all five members of his family would he ensure the entire estate, which would simultaneously liberate him from the Farm and all the duties that entailed.

What I'd like to see are the E-Fit pics of the two men so I'm going to try and find them to compare with descriptions given.

Steve,even Fred West was linked to her disappearance at one time.
Although thousands of people were questioned police omitted or overlooked the questioning of sexual offenders who'd been released at the time.
Neither had alarm bells rang after Cannan had been released in 1981 after a short sentence,though a serious charge of rape. He was never monitored after release and as a consequence had slipped through the net of the initial investigation.
Met police later had to apologise  for their missed opportunity after Rachel Banks was murdered.

I'm slightly on the fence with this case insomuch as police at the time of a review of Cannan had taken it upon themselves to say that " he was the only suspect " whereby the CPS had stated that there'd been insufficient evidence to charge him.
I await the findings of the excavation------of which there'd been one or two in the past,one being at a barracks but nothing was ever found after having used specialist equipment.
