Didn't Patti start a thread on David Bain? He's a quintuple murderer pure and simple. His guru Joe Karam can't even say he's innocent, just that he thought there were irregularities in the case, which is upsetting in the extreme. David is now sipping Pinot Noir from his apartment with a view of the Waitakere Ranges in Auckland whilst the five family members he murdered lie together in a gravestone David condemned them to in Dunedin.http://davidbain.counterspin.co.nz/

I don't think it was me Steve! I'm sure there is another one though!  :-\ ;D ;D ;D

People were weary of the case,David had spent over 13 years in prison, the warders don't like it when an inmate protests innocence as they can get unsettled, the retrial was moved away from Dunedin, the jury were bombarded with forensic witnesses, the defendant had Joe Karam's support..

Not at all..I see you have very little knowledge of the case,or you would know that David waited for his father to come into the house, hid behind an alcove whilst his father who had lovingly brought him up so dissimilar in every way to June Bamber, got down to pray, then he shot him in the head. He had already shot his mother in the eye as she lay in bed, moving on to younger brother Stephen's room where Stephen managed to grab the gun with one hand and take a few fibres from David's green jersey under his fingernails;the rifle jammed but David undeterred strangled him to death with a T-shirt wearing white opera gloves which he discarded under the bed and shot him again. He shot his sister Laniet after bullying her into staying in the house that night(the whole family staying under one roof scenario is frighteningly familiar isn't it?),then moved to sister Arawa's room where she may have become aware of the commotion and got on her knees in front of David begging for her life,to no avail as David killed her as well. Finally as he retraced his steps in bloodied stocking feet he heard Laniet gurgling, and realizing she was not dead he reentered her bedroom and finished her off with two more shots.

David then set about to erase the evidence by putting his blood-soaked clothes in a washing machine, the cycle of which had stopped by the time Police arrived thus manifesting a 20 minute gap between David apparently discovering his family dead and his melodramatic call to Police. He had already told a friend he thought something bad was going to happen that night,he told male friends that using the subterfuge of a paper round as an alibi he might be able to get away with raping a woman, and Stephen told a friend he had a dream where David came into his room with a gun saying "bang! you're dead". Another witness Kirsten Koch told the world after the trial that Arawa had been frightened of David, who had become a control freak and had threatened them with a gun shortly before the murders.

But despite all that, he was found to be innocent.

No he was found not guilty, which as Petey will tell you is quite a separate matter. As for compensation I doubt even after Justice Ian Binnie's report David Bain will have a cat in hell's chance of receiving one penny..

not guilty means your innocent and any real lawyer would know that.

your innocent untill proven guilty so if your not guilty your innocent.

Perhaps freedom is more important than money.

I thought there was new evidence that proves his father did kill the family. Isn't there a mark on his thumb that mirrors the mechanics of loading of the rifle... :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

They were marks from when Robin had fixed the guttering over the weekend. It's ridiculous to suggest Robin killed his family leaving no forensic traces, changed out of bloodied socks, typed a suicide note on the computer then shot himself whilst sparing David, when Arawa was following the same career path as himself and he worked hard to provide for the family.

It must be very difficult for anyone to walk out of jail a free after serving a sentence for murder whether he was guilty or not guilty...its not easy is it? especially if that case and person has been the topic of conversation for the duration of his sentence...
