Robert Napper

One of the most prolific and violent attackers in history. With a suspected over 100 attacks/killings.

Bad long term mistakes made by the police. Firstly in not catching Napper sooner, but also in focusing on the wrong man in the wrong way.

Like all caught criminals he made a mistake. Which in hindsight seems like a careless one.

Surprised he admitted to the killing of Samantha Bissett shortly before trial. On the grounds of diminished responsibilty. The police said they were not sure of a conviction.

The only evidence was a fingerprint on an outside low level balcony & a footprint which matched one of his trainers.

He could say lots of people have that shoe & he must have touched that balcony when out walking. The balcony is near some stairs which lead to a main road. Or he could claim police corruption.

He killed Rachel Nickell: http://jeremybamberforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,8377.0.html

Yes I was aware of that!

Be interesting to know on what basis the DPP said the Colin Stagg case can proceed to court. There was no forensic evidence. A few people said he looked like the photo fit & he lived near the common. However he never admitted to it or disclosed classified information to the honey trap.

Did the DPP not consider the honey trap attempt as illegal? The judge certainly did.

Maybe the police were not going to include the honey trap attempt in the prosecution. Then all they have is people said he looks like the photo fit and he lives near the common. He had no previous.

The police & Paul Britain blame each other for not linking the Bissett & Nikell cases. Other forces claim they approached the Nikell investigation but were stone walled as Stagg was their man.

Britain amazingly claimed they were not linked as the Bissett attack was more savage. That was because it was in her home & Napper had more time.
