Another victim of the survival of the fittest culture, all-pervasive since her birth in 1979. She rode the wave for as long as she could, winning Strictly Come Dancing in 2014, yet the shallowness of Love Island epitomized her career as she faced assault allegations in a London courtroom next month, where a 999 telephone call alleging "she tried to kill me mate" would have been played to a captivated jury and a mass media baying for blood. Her hopes of moving to Los Angeles dashed, like those other impostors, Harry and Megan, she could fall back on nothing: neither mother, father nor twin sister Jody were enough to prevent the tragedy, more Romeo and Juliet than Midsummer Night's Dream.

She had told so many people she wasn’t coping and her friend who was staying with her had just popped to the shops.
Her poor family.

Te appalling state of Mental Health Care in this country is shameful, there is nowhere to go for help, GPs aren’t properly trained and waiting lists for specialised treatment are ridiculously long.  Another one of many who have been completely let down by the system.

I couldn't agree more Maggie. I'm annoyed with the CPS and the court system that they couldn't see that this was a very vulnerable woman and alarm bells should have rung in that her behaviour was not that of a " normal " person.
Poor woman must have been going through torture in her mind that there was no other way out. How shameful and in fact disgusting that our MHS is at an all time low that nobody can spot a sick person when they see one.

Nugs, it appears this time that it was the police who were forcing the issue. Either way it was still wrong without a proper assessment of her mental health.

I don't know what police are supposed to do in these circumstances. Is anyone suggesting that Caroline Flack should have been sectioned under the Mental Health Act and what if she refused to go?

In retrospect she should have been sectioned for her own good, but police are not doctors.

Apparently CF told police she was going to kill herself when they came to arrest her so they should have radioed for a doctor.

I do not know but I imagine they took the view that in the absence of cooperation from the complainant there was insufficient prospect of a successful prosecution.
