The caryatids in the Bamber case are those apparently well meaning people who say they think Bamber is innocent while being solid opponents of conspiracy theories.

The metaphor runs like this. The entablature being supported is like the prosecution's case and the figures underneath are supporters who believe he is innocent while still supporting the police and staunchly opposing those who say that the police framed Bamber.

Nice Bernard Hepton avatar.  I liked him in that program and also in Tinker Tailor.

I can see your point and I agree to an extent.  However, it has to be balanced against misinterpretation of documents.  Seeing what you want to see, despite there being a more likely or credible explanation available.

That guys theories over at IA can easily be debunked. He never replied to my last post dismantling his conspiracy theory that consisted of 2% evidence (misinterpreted) and the other 98% being wild conjecture.
